What is TEDx?

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Our event is called TEDxYouth@Hewitt, where x = independently organized TED event. At our TEDxYouth@Hewitt event, TEDTalks video and live speakers will combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events, including ours, are self-organized.

What is TEDxYouth@Hewitt?

Part of a global series of events held in honor of Universal Children's Day (November 20), TEDxYouth@Hewitt invites young people from grades 8-12 to gather for a day of inspiring talks and conversation.

An anchor event for TEDxYouth, the Hewitt conference streams live to encourage the widest possible audience. Students have the opportunity to network with one antoher during intervals that encourage idea sharing through conversation, blogging, tweeting, and play.

The 5th annual TEDxYouth@Hewitt event will be held on Saturday, November 15, 2014 in New York City. The 2014 theme is “Worlds Imagined.” Speakers will pose the question “what if…?” and begin to answer the question based on their career and experiences.
